My guess is it was sort of a throwaway reference, but we'll see. I'm also now under the impression that the vid really is just a wacky opener and not at all reflective of the game, which is sounds like was shown in its full form, just not on the show floor.

The last I saw of it last year it was far more a digital toy that hadn't found any "game" sensibilities (and, in one of my more embarrassing moments, the minute I laid hands on the controller to try it for myself I accidentally turned the PS3 off in front of everyone, but most had cleared out of the auditorium by then).

I guess with the Metro Cross connection you could start to form the conspiracy theory that there might be an eventual Libble Rabble tie-in -- everything about it (apart from the jumping, which he seems to keep emphasizing) screams LR mechanics.

The Noby Noby music is from Namco's "Metro Cross" (which, incidentally, was remixed for Technic Beat). Kinda weird that they'd reuse it. Since it looks pretty retro, maybe Noby will be based around nods to various classic games?
